The great thing about wreaths is that they can come in all shapes and sizes. They are also not limited to just one holiday so a Shamrock Wreath is perfect for March. Our beautiful Green Twisted Cotton Rope is the perfect component to crafting your very own St. Patrick's Day decor. Hang it on your door or use it as flare for your holiday party. By simply using wire and rope, this project is fun and easy. We have put together step-by-step instructions for making your own wreath below!
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Approximately 25-Feet of Ravenox Green Twisted Cotton Rope or Ravenox Lime Green Twisted Polypropylene Rope (more or less depending on what size you'd like your wreath to be)
- 4 oz. Spool of Paddle Wire (Regular is fine, but green works even better!)
- Diagonal Cutting Pliers
GETTING STARTED...
STEP 1:
Wrap your rope in wire cord from end to end. This makes your rope shapeable as you continue your project.
STEP 2:
Shape your first clover leaf by making a loop that is approximately 10 X 8 inches. Be sure to leave a few extra inches of rope hanging out. Use the extra inches to wrap and secure the bottom of the loop.
STEP 3:
To form another clover leaf, fashion a second loop that matches the size of the first. Use the extra inches to fasten them at the center of the shamrock. Repeat this step until you have four leaves total.
STEP 4:
After your leaves are formed, repeat the shapes and begin created a second layer over the first completed layer. This will make your shamrock more robust. Continue to wrap the additional rope in the center to secure each loop as you work.
STEP 5:
-
Create a stem with the remaining cotton rope and fold it slightly less than halfway down the stem. Wrap any excess around the center to secure the entirety of your wreath.
STEP 6:
-
The final part is to push the tops of each leaf down a bit so they resembe the leaves that are on a clover.

We hope you love what you've created. Now you won't get pinched this Saint Patrick's Day!
